A weekend away with CHA-UK

Hello there,

Time for a catch up.

When I visited Stitches at Birmingham in February I was introduced to the cha-uk.co.uk by a crafter I met at the show.
As a member this quote from their website sums it up for me -

"Our mission, is to make the CHA-UK a trade association which provides its members with the opportunities they need and deserve and cannot access elsewhere"

Their executive director Craig, is easily available to contact and most helpful in answering and directing any queries or questions from members.

Their One Big Show event was held at Ricoh arena, Coventry last weekend and is the ideal platform for networking, learning and sharing, the seminars are invaluable and the workshops provide great interactive fun.

From the start the whole team are there to welcome, support and guide its members and we were thoroughly looked after and well catered for during the whole of the event.

I met some truly lovely and inspirational people who are so generous and giving of their time and advise and made new friends and great contacts along the way.

Personally I met with people I would not normally have had the privilege of being introduced to and subsequently it has opened up new opportunities which I'm excited about.

I was asked by a group I met up with about my experience of running workshops so I'm going to be touching more on this in a separate post, I'm glad you found my experiences helpful.

I'm not going to dwell on how poorly I was before heading off to
The One Big Show because I am now feeling so much better but still taking things slowly and steady, thank you to all of you for the love well wishes.
What I do want to shout out about is the massive surprise I received on Saturday evening's Networking event at the show!
I only went and won the top raffle prize!!!
How awesome is that!
Here's what I won from
Only the fabulous Explore Air Machine.

It was presented to me by the lovely
Sara Naumann and Suzie Candlin was there throughout the event demoing so I got a hands on lesson too.
I was totally gobsmacked to win this awesome prize and am so excited about introducing it into my crafting.
How lucky am I!

I had a totally awesome weekend, met super lovely people and was thoroughly spoilt, thank you CHA-UK.
If you're a Buyer, D.E.B or Supplier I urge you to check out and join The Craft and Hobby Trade Association.

That's it from me for today,
Have a great weekend,
Love and Crafty Hugs xxx

Crafting on a summer's day

Happy Monday to you all.
What a glorious day it was yesterday for our monthly class.
We had lovely day transforming small wooden trays into shabby chic home decor, both practical and pretty, they make lovely gifts.
As always the ladies did me so proud putting into practice the different techniques and adding their individuality to each and every one.
It was a relaxed, fun and social day and once again local lad Toby did us proud with his homemade chocolate orange cake, it was to die for!
Clare kindly did the ice cream run for us which was very welcome as it was so hot and gave us a cooling break between crafting.
The decoupage classes are proving very popular and more dates are lined up which will include projects on glass.
These will be additional to the monthly and weekly craft sessions already planned.
I do hope you have a good week, thank you for popping in today, it's always so appreciated.
I'll leave you with all the wonderful projects created yesterday, aren't they all fab!...xKx

The essence of the seasons

Good morning,
We have sunshine, here this morning, yesterday it was so cold and heavy hail showers.
At our weekly crafty session we used products and inspiration from Inkylicious to create some seasonal themed cards.
I particularly like the "essence of the seasons" sentiment, really lovely stamp sets and so useful.
The morning was complete with coffee and another delicious cake from Toby, the young chef in training, strawberry and coconut cake. I'm not a coconut fan but this won me over!
Toby is making a chocolate orange cake for our next monthly workshop, we are so spoilt with his baking creations.
All in all another happy couple of hours crafting chatting, coffee and cake, pretty perfect.
As always the ladies did me proud with their makes, really lovely don't you think...
Have a good day and thanks so much for visiting...xKx

Crafting and cream tea

Morning,
Thank you for stopping by today.
Just popping in with a quick blog post before I start the crafty jobs on my list today.
We had a lovely time yesterday at craft class making cards using a Faux tile technique.
The photo's aren't great as I left my IPad behind so my phone had to do the job instead, it didn't spoil the fun though as the pictures captured.
My daughter joined us and enjoyed meeting another group of my crafty ladies.
She has a week off this week before heading off on her travels for a month and then starting her new job, we're cramming a lot in this week before she goes.
I've promised the ladies I'll keep them updated with her news and thank them for their words of advice, encouragement and well wishes.
Anyhow we had another lovely session which again went all too quickly.
As always the ladies produced some wonderful results.
In the afternoon we went out for afternoon tea with my neighbour and her friend for a long overdue catch up!
The tea was wonderful and we felt full to bursting once finished!
Such a lovely day and the weather to match.
Hope you have a good day today,
Crafty hugs xKx

Home Decor Decoupage

Morning crafty friends,
My poor neglected blog!
It's taken a back seat while I've been busy elsewhere in my crafty world but it will be returning again really soon.
Hope you've all been well and enjoying your crafting if you've been able to.
I've been busy with crafty classes, workshops, orders and sorting out some tutorials to blog for you.
I look forward to sharing these.
In the meantime here's some samples for a couple of classes that I'm holding.
Home decor with decoupage, MDF and glass, a mix of ornamental and functional items.
I've done my samples using one matching theme.
Really looking forward to these classes.
Thanks so much for looking today, look forward to catching up with blogging again soon.
Love and crafty hugs xKx
