A day at the Zoo...

Morning everyone,

A quick blog post from me this morning.
Hope everyone is well and I wish you a lovely weekend.
I must thank everyone for all the Birthday wishes sent to my Daughter who was 28 yesterday.
It was so very kind of you all and truly appreciated.
We spent the day at London Zoo, it was fabulous, such an amazing place.
Then it was home for a nice meal, a bottle of vino and Birthday cake, perfect!
Although rain in the morning it turned out lovely and sunny in the afternoon so that was a bonus too.
I'll leave you with pictures from the day and one of her Birthday cards I made, I'll share the other soon.

The card uses Designs by Ryn, gorgeous Hibiscus stamps along with the stencil and Ginko leaves stencil, all with distress inks.
These new Designs from Ryn are beautiful and I'll be doing more with them soon...

Thanks for looking today...

Pond Frogs...

Hello all,
Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend.

I've been having a bit of me time, sorting some life things, health issues and some things involved with mum's care, she's 90 in April and we're planning a few family things to enjoy with her.

Sometimes we just need to step away and take stock which is exactly what I've been doing.

Tomorrow I'm off with a lovely friend to have a crafty day with Kay Carley, watercolour with Brusho's, some more cool technique to be learnt here I think...

Anyway I've done very little crafting during my break except for having a play with these Poppystamps dies "Pond Frogs".
They are new and when I spotted them I decided they'd be ideal to use along Designs by Ryn Water Droplets.

Colouring is all with Brusho's.

Hope these little chaps add a bit of a smile to your weekend, they certainly made me smile...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Brusho Boxes at Bristol

Afternoon all,

Trying to catch up this week after a wonderful crafty weekend.
Saturday in Bristol was the Candy Box Crafts Brusho box project.
We used Brusho's to decorate and stamps including Designs by Ryn, Paperartsy, Stampendous and Bee Crafty Banksy designs.
I think I can happily say the ladies loved the class and I am as proud as punch with their fabulous results, they're all so talented and clever.
Some of them have even done a further box since arriving home.
I'm now prepping for this Sunday's workshop in Kent, it's all go!
So I'll leave you with a peek of the stunning array of Brusho Boxes
and the deep concentration creating!
Lots of fun, chat, tea breaks and yummy cakes,
particularly Jan's homemade cupcakes.
Thanks ever so for popping by my blog today, back soon with the Warwickshire Sunday class.

Workshop results and news

Morning all,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.
I'm getting ready for a full on crafty weekend with lovely friends
in Bristol and Warwickshire at Pink Tulip Creations.
We're going to be transforming the Candy Box Crafts Brusho box and Notelet box.
I feel very honoured to have two special friends traveling over from Ireland to join us for the weekend too, how exciting!

Last weekend at my Crockenhill workshop we did a simple clock canvas, 10 x 12, using Brusho's.
I did my sample for the ladies using Designs by Ryn to create what I call my Tropical Rain design.

Now after my briefing and guide as to how I did it the ladies have a free rein to create as they wish.
It's fabulous to see everyone's individual take on the original idea, the different stamps they use and orientation to make each one unique.

The abilities range from very new to highly skilled crafters.

My next local classes are booking now and they include the gorgeous Triple frame from Candy box on the 8th March, then on the 18th April the ladies get there chance with the Notelet box and in May we are going to be using Paper clay to make a tag and add to some cards.
My paper clay sample will be revealed this weekend.

So lots going on to look forward to!

For any further info about my classes my email is
craftyk@hotmail.co.uk

So I'll bid you a good day and leave you with a montage of some of the lovely artwork created by my wonderfully talented ladies.

Tropical Rain

Good morning all,
Well it's Friday and nearly the weekend again.
Hope it's a good one for you...
Today I'm sharing the sample for my next workshop on the 22nd Feb here in a Kent.
The ladies at the last workshop already had a sneaky peek last Sunday.
Anyway it's a clock canvas using the wonderful Designs by Ryn stamps and beautiful Brusho's.
I'm sure as always the ladies will put their own spin on the idea and be wonderfully creative and I look forward to seeing what ideas they come up with.
If it's anything like their fabulous Brusho boxes we're in for a real treat.
I hope you gave a lovely day and I'll leave you with my finished sample.

Party Animal Avery Elle Stamps and Sea Bubbles Designs by Ryn

A bit of fun with this tag with the Party Animal Stamp Set from Avery Elle which I teamed up with Ryn's Sea Bubbles.
I used Hero Arts Neon ink pads for the background, Party Animal balloons and to colour the seam binding.
Black and White Enamel Accents from Ranger added to the bubbles.
Hope you like this bright fun tag, thanks for popping by today, Crafty Hugs xKx

Designs by Ryn Stamps, MDF Clock and The Meltpot = Shabby Vintage Clock

Today I have a brand new clock to share with you.
The lovely Ryn sent me some stamps to work with after she'd seen the laminated clocks I made up using her stamps last year.
These deeply etched stamps are superb quality and so lovely to work with, check them out here
Designs by Ryn Shop  and  Designs by Ryn Blog
I knew I wanted to design a new MDF clock and I thought the scallop square would be perfect.
Firstly the base was painted with cream paint and a square of card cut for my centre background design.
I made a mask for the Flower Lace 2 stamp and stamped this in victorian velvet to completely cover the background square.
I then used a selection of masks/stencils on this same piece and randomly sponged areas and shapes in walnut stain, worn lipstick and victorian velvet DI's.
Sponge gold embossing paste sponged through areas of the masks.
The beautiful Candra butterfly is stamped in walnut stain DI and embossed with clear embossing powder.
After blending the edges of the square card with walnut stain I then layered onto the contrasting coloured card layers.
The a Spiral Branch set was used to stamp on to the painted base, I stamped in walnut stain and clear embossed.
The outside elements were all coated in beeswax using the Meltpot.
I stamped Flower a Lace 2 and Candra and cut them out and the other elements are from the Tim Holtz Eiffel Tower and French Script texture fades embossing folder, I love this!
I've also used the Spellbinders Poinsettia a piece of scrim, seam binding and hat pins.
I stuck to the same colour DI's throughout, walnut stain, victorian velvet, worn lipstick and tattered rose.
I thoroughly enjoyed making this clock and working with Ryn's stamps and it was good to give my
Meltpot an airing again too!
Thank you Ryn and
Thanks also for looking at my blog today, I hope I've given you some inspiration...xKx
