About Time!

Morning all,
Hope you've had a good week, have you anything nice planned this weekend...
A scheduled post from me this morning as I'm having a weekend off, yay!
Some R&R and pampering before going to a Bridal Shower for my daughter's friend who she's going to be a Bridesmaid for next year.
Then catching up with a lovely friend of mine tomorrow for a few hours.

Anyhow it's seems appropriate to be posting about "Time" as the clocks are changing this weekend, that whole extra hour we gain but then the shorter days and nights drawing in even more.

One of my jobs this week was making clocks, some old favourite designs that always prove popular and some new additions too.
These have helped replenish stock for various places where they're on sale.
I never tire of creating these and will leave you with a few pictures.
Whatever you're doing have a lovely weekend and I'll catch up again soon...

Some Silhouettes and Surprises

Good Morning,
It's been a busy old week here, a time of year with lots of birthdays and celebrations going on.
So I've not only pepping work, making stock items and orders but also some special makes too.
Now I can't share everything just yet as it would spoil the surprise and I do love surprises don't you.
What I can share is some makes from the craft session and demo at a local Meeing Place.
It's a great scheme where the little local library has a lovely tea room and lots of other things of interest going on apart from yummy cakes and savouries, cream teas and coffee's.
I met a local WI lady while I was there and someone who had just moved into the area, naturally I asked if she was a crafter and guess what? Of course I'd met another obsessive crafter!
I've also been busy with my clocks again and came up with something for fellow Beagle lovers.
There's also a quick birthday card I did yesterday for a little young man.
I've got lots of exciting things to work with over the next few week, including things I've used on these recent makes and a few old favourites that have made a return for me.
I've pretty much come full circle which is exciting, using much loved and trusty favourites like Crafty Individuals, Bee Crafty, Tapestry and Card-io peg stamps which are perfect for my clocks.
I'm finishing this after taking my daughter to the station earlier, such a foggy start but I think we're in for another glorious day when it clears.
I must get in with my day now so I'll love you and leave you.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by, it's always so appreciated.

New and Old

Good evening all,
What a gorgeous day it's been for being out and about as I have, absolutely glorious.
Since I started making CD clocks a few years ago now I've been selling them in various outlets and online as well as sharing the techniques with crafter's at demo's and workshops.
Their popularity never ceases to amaze me and I'm so grateful for the wonderful support and feedback I continue to receive about them.
So what's "New"...
Today I set up "shop" in a new venue that helps support small businesses, I've always enjoyed selling my craft as well as teaching which is a more recent approach I've taken.

Now for the "Old"
At the Ali Craft weekend retreat the project on Saturday was a DecoArt project bought to us by Barbara Nicholson.
We used DecoArt techniques and inspiration to create this aged and rusted piece.
Lots of layers went into this and I was very happy with my result.
I'm already buzzing with ideas to put my own spin on this in lots of different ways.
That's all for now, thank you for calling in.

A rainy end to the day

Hello there,
How's your Bank Holiday going so far?...
We've been having a lovely time, I caught up with some super friends.
Socialising and eating out and yesterday we received super news as my daughter passed the penultimate exams for her chartered accounting course, nearly the end of a three year slog.
We celebrated with bubbles last night!
Today was gorgeous sunshine this morning so I took advantage of a bit of a relax on the lounger in the garden.
This evening the rain appeared so I'm glad I made the most of the sun earlier.
I've had lots of interest in the revival of my little clocks so this evening I have a new addition along with some old favourites to share.
I'll leave you with these before relaxing for the evening and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks so much for visiting,

A special garden party

Good morning,
Here we are at the start of another week.
Thank you so much for visiting this today.
I had a pretty busy but hugely enjoyable weekend.
Spending the day on Saturday with my family and now extended family as I think of them at Mum's care home.
A really lovely day, a BBQ, music, summer stalls, fresh home grown produce, chutneys and jams and afternoon tea and cupcakes.
I got there early for setting up in the garden area.

The event was to raise funds and support the care home and I had a stall selling my clocks and shabby chic handmade items and gifts.

Apart from selling the gifts I was able to take orders which I can deliver when I travel to visit mum.
We were so fortunate with the weather, it was the most glorious day.
So everything was set up early outside under Gazebo's and plenty of sun umbrella's and shade for the residents.
Super organised day and thoroughly enjoyable for the residents and visitors alike.
Once in full swing the time flew and I realised I hadn't taken photo's in full swing but this is one that did get taken.

Tomorrow they are going to be celebrating an amazing lovely lady's
 101st Birthday!!!
Cheers Esther!

After packing away in the afternoon I drove back home to get ready for a birthday party we went to in the evening.
Lovely and relaxing as we were able to sit outside, making the most of it being very warm.
Yesterday was more relaxing in preparation for the busy working week ahead.
That's all for now, catch up again soon.

Friday's sneaky peek...

Glorious day today,
Some of you know I'm taking some time out for some much needed convalescing after an accumulation of health issues that have really taken their toll.

Things are still ticking along never the less and I'm pottering and creating at my leisure and making a few changes here and there.

It's good to have this time to reflect...

Inspiration from a friend for future arty works
"I'm working on a Brand New Ending!"
and this is just the Begining...

My workshop ladies are being hugely supportive at this time, as they always are.
I do love the crafty time I spend with these genuinely lovely friends, away from so much negativity.
We laugh, chat and chill out learning from each other along the way...

Anyway today I'm sharing a sneaky peek of my make for the lovely Lisa B, to see the whole thing you'll have to pop over to my tutorial over on her blog here lisabdesignsinspiration.blogspot

I do hope you enjoy a lovely weekend whatever you're doing.

Thanks for popping by,

Visible Image Stamps meet Viva Decor 3D Stamp Paint

It's Thurs so that means it's my turn for the weekly Visible Image blog post.
I've used the Large Butterfly, Butterfly Sentiment and Large Tall Grasses stamps.
I also wanted to experiment with a product that's new to me and new on my Website here -
Viva Decor 3D Stamp Paint
I've had a bit of a break from making my "Signature" CD clocks while I've been turning my attention to other altered art projects but I do love creating these clocks and I have still made just a couple recently with my other stamps.
Butterflies are always a popular choice and it wasn't my intention to make two clocks, I was going to make a clock and matching card but, I got carried away experimenting with the stamp paint rather than designing a card!
I need to explain a bit about how to use the paint and it's composition.
It's a high luminance waterproof and smear free paint especially devloped for stamping and inking techniques, I hope the shimmer and texture shows through in my photo's.
It can be applied with a brush and water as a paint, with pouncer sponges or daubers and you can also stamp with it.
I'm not quite sure why it's called 3D although it does dry almost instantly keeping any raised texture from sponge application and it's matt chalky like finish makes it very touchy feely.
The shimmer and shine is incredible and hard to completely capture in a picture.
You can heat dry it if necessary but it does dry almost instantly anyway.

Starting with the gold and pink clock I very lightly pounced gold on one half and pink (Rose) on the other, then I stamped directly onto this surface, reverse side of Centura Pearl card, with the tall grasses in the same colours.
I was quite impressed with the way the paint stamped, I then blended some colour around the edges using a sponge.
The Butterfly sentiment is stamped in the black 3D paint which is matt not shimmery and I was
unsure how the sentiment would stamp with the paint but, again I was equally impressed.
Next I used a brush and water with the gold paint for the piece of card which I then over stamped the butterfly in Rose.
I cut the butterfly out, and mounted on foam pads, the card candi was sponged with the black paint to match the black of the sentiment.
This first clock base was then ready to assemble.
For the next sample I wanted to cover the whole background with paint so I started by sponging the Rose pink all over the piece without pouncing so it was smooth in appearance.
I then went in with my sponges very lightly pouncing the other colours, Walnut brown, Light blue and gold.
Again by pouncing it leaves a texture on the surface.
The card for the sentiment and butterfly I sponged in the blue colour, the same way as I did with the pink. I then lightly pounced with Rose pink.
I stamped the butterfly and sentiment this time with black archival, after cutting out again they are mounted with foam pads.
The black digits are denoted by using Ranger enamel accents.
I'm keen to explore the Viva Decor 3D Paint further as it can be used in so many ways and on many different surfaces.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today xKx

Spiral of Spells Clock with Lavinia Stamps

This clock was super simple to make and yet so very effective.
The design is stamped on to a 12cm circle of card which covers the CD it's mounted on to.
I use an eyelet setter to create the centre hole for the clock mechanism to go through.
Picked Raspberry distress ink is blended onto the background, lightening the colour nearer the centre of the circle.
The hardest part is centralising the Spiral of Spells I usually have a practise on scrap paper first, but I have been doing these clocks a long time so it's not so much of a challenge for me now.
Once the clock base was prepared I used candi for the numerals, using a protractor to line them up.
These are mounted with foam pads and I added some Star Dust Stickles "Stars" on top and left to dry before assembling the clock.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today....xKx

I sell kits for making CD clocks which contain everything you need -
Quartz Mechanism Sweep Movement (non-ticking) with Ornate Black Hands, AA Battery, CD, Stand, Gift Box and Pre-Cut Card Circle Discs for stamping, cut from quality stamping card.
