Workshop results and news

Morning all,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.
I'm getting ready for a full on crafty weekend with lovely friends
in Bristol and Warwickshire at Pink Tulip Creations.
We're going to be transforming the Candy Box Crafts Brusho box and Notelet box.
I feel very honoured to have two special friends traveling over from Ireland to join us for the weekend too, how exciting!

Last weekend at my Crockenhill workshop we did a simple clock canvas, 10 x 12, using Brusho's.
I did my sample for the ladies using Designs by Ryn to create what I call my Tropical Rain design.

Now after my briefing and guide as to how I did it the ladies have a free rein to create as they wish.
It's fabulous to see everyone's individual take on the original idea, the different stamps they use and orientation to make each one unique.

The abilities range from very new to highly skilled crafters.

My next local classes are booking now and they include the gorgeous Triple frame from Candy box on the 8th March, then on the 18th April the ladies get there chance with the Notelet box and in May we are going to be using Paper clay to make a tag and add to some cards.
My paper clay sample will be revealed this weekend.

So lots going on to look forward to!

For any further info about my classes my email is
craftyk@hotmail.co.uk

So I'll bid you a good day and leave you with a montage of some of the lovely artwork created by my wonderfully talented ladies.

Gorgeous Sweet Poppy Rocking Horse

Friday already and we now know who did it!
Eastenders, I've loved it this week.
Anyway in amongst the chaos that reins at present
I found a few minutes to have play with this gorgeous fella from
Sweet Poppy Stencils.
I just had the idea of a Dappled Grey Rocking Horse, the old school type with the red saddle.
So onto some scrummy linen card, which has a slight sheen, from Crafters Companion, I used a stencil brush and the following colour ink pads. Frayed Burlap distress ink and Memento London Fog for the horse and Vintage Photo for the rocker. I used a red pencil for the saddle.
Another in my "Simplistic" style, he's so beautiful I don't think he needs anything more...
Have a great Friday, it's nearly the weekend.

Delightful Dahlia

Morning lovely people,
It's just a quick pit stop from me this morning.
With just a week to go until my Bristol/Warwickshire workshops weekend and my Kent workshop this Sunday I have lots to be getting on with.
Just lately I've been trying a few designs that are very simplistic.
I absolutely love something simple that stands out just for that reason.
So for this I chose Delicious Dahlia by Honey Doo crafts,
I bought a few of their stamps a while back and often turn to them for a project like this.
Amanda and Kay from Honey Doo are lovely and the stamps are good quality and stamp well.
Anyhow I simply blended Picked Raspberry distress ink through the the circle opening cut from a die.
Stamped in Versafine black Onyx, the sentiment is from a set by Artemio called Butterfly Collage which has really useful elements to it.
My lovely crafty pal Lisa had these stamps in her online shop
Lisa B Designs.
I chose this sentiment because it flowed nicely with the swirl of the main image.
Finished with card candi and voila, job done!

Thanks ever so for popping by today, I must crack on now.

Just perfect for Valentines Day.

Having fun with Coaster Sets

Morning all,
Phew, it's been all go, I'm having a slight breather today while I clear the decks for my next tasks.
It's a bit damp and grey here in Kent so I thought I'd share this cheery coaster set with you.
They're great fun to do and make a wonderful gift.
This set is winging it's way to be displayed at Stitches along with a few other items I've made, how cool is that!
For these I took inspiration from PaperArtsy techniques.
I've always watched Leandra and JOFY with complete admiration, fascinated but their talent.
I wasn't sure I could master this technique then I joined in a little Make n Take with the lovely JOFY back last year and my hubby really liked the result so it prompted me to go it alone!
I've since gone on to tweak the techniques to show my ladies at my local workshops here in Kent.
They all glad such fun with these!
This was the result of my samples, they are finished with a sealer that makes them heat resistant and wipeable.
Coaster sets by Candy Box Crafts, Hexagon, Round and Square sets available.
Thanks for looking today, back soon.

With Sympathy...

It's Friday!
Phew, a very busy week but I've finally got back on track, still a fair bit to do but don't feel quite so overwhelmed.
I hate that feeling that you don't seem to be getting anywhere and so much to do don't you...

Anyway there's some exciting things in the pipeline for later in the year, I can't say anything at the moment but I'll be having a glass or two of something this weekend that's for sure...

So onto today's make, Sympathy cards, they're difficult cards to send anyway and making them can be a challenge too, keeping things simple is usually the answer I feel.

I've used the lovely Sizzix Layered Angel Wings die by Tim Holtz.
I'm a huge fan of Bigz dies, they're extremely versatile and
I just love 'em!
Anyhow I had inspiration to use them along with the Lavinia Stamps Floral Spray.
I used, as I have done quite a bit recently, the die as a stencil and blended distress inks in Frayed Burlap and Tea Dye through the "stencils"
They layer perfectly in top of each other to create gorgeous Angel Wings.
The Floral Spray then just sat nicely in the middle with a touch of Platinum Stickles to finish before adding the sentiment.

Sympathy cards, not cards we like to send but it's good to know there's a design we can turn to if needed.

Have a great day.

Brusho clock canvas with Designs by Ryn

Morning all,
It's a busy month, lots going on with my home and away workshops coming up very soon.
I've got back into the swing if things a bit better now, I have a lot of family things to attend to with my sister being poorly and dear mum, bless her, settling into respite. It's been a stressful time juggling so many things but we manage don't we.
I'm pleased to say too that my daughter is well on the way with her ACA exams, she had one re sit recently which she absolutely smashed and now just three to go. I tell you those bubbles will be flowing at the end of this hard slog!
Anyhow on to the next Kent workshop on the 22nd Feb, the project is this clock canvas with Brusho's and Design by Ryn stamps.
Looking forward to this one!
Have a good day and keep warm.
See you soon xKx
