Meeting Annabel, Lily & Rosie

So to the last of my makes from the Clarity TV shows.
I had "such fun" with these girlies and their corresponding patterns.
They took me back to my youth when I use to love nothing more than having a try at fashion art design and I would sit for hours drawing and colouring fashions scenes and images.
So I decided I just had to recreate something along those lines and it took me right back and once again I became completely absorbed in what I was doing!
I think it's also where I found my love of working in miniature.
I kept to just the stamped images and used Momento London Fog ink pad and thought about a bit of a retro style incorporating the names, adding my chosen elements, embellishments and for a bit of fun the chicks!
The colours were chosen to reflect each girls image and "personality" and in keeping with my childhood love I decided to some colour elements with pencils and add the pencil writing.
I used the Letterbox Kit interchanged with the ovals from the Numeral Set for the girls names.
The "fabric" swatches, cotton fabric swatch and paper elements were made having fun with the Gelli Plate, just practising and trying out different techniques.
I made a cover page for each of the designs and used a book ring to join them adding the threads and fibres in complementary colours.
I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed creating them!
They're my take on the current trend of "Art Journaling" I'm calling them my "Fashion Art Journals"  xKx

Eggs and Chicks

I thought the Eggs and Chicks would make a bit of different style New Baby card so for the next design I stamped the images with a brown Versafine ink pad and coloured with Pro-Markers before cutting them out leaving a white border edge all around the image.
The Letterbox Kit provided the idea for the alphabet building blocks and created the greeting.
All mounted using 3d foam pads and finished with some string "Pom Pom" style bows I made.
This next card uses the chicks in the nest stamp along with the Easter banner and greeting.
Done in a similar style but I embossed the chicks and nest with a brown embossing powder.
The last of my Easter samples uses the decorative eggs again.
This time I stamped onto a good quality paper with London Fog Momento ink and coloured ageing with Pro-Markers. White dots and accents were added using a Pergamano gel pen.
I shaped the eggs using an embossing tool and it appeared to give a "shell like" appearance, they were then mounted using 3d foam pads.
I finished with the Pom Pom bows again and some flowers I created using my Silhouette Cameo.
I will be back later with my last samples which were the lovely fun ladies and patterns, thanks for popping by xKx

Faberge Eggs

I've sneaked back to bed with a cuppa on yet another arctic morning out there!
This weather is atrocious and I think we're all yearning for some sun and warmth.
With the weather looking as it is for a good few days yet snuggling in the warm and hot drinks will have to suffice for now I guess.
Looking ahead to Easter arriving shortly after the first day of Spring, which seems hard to believe at present! I have the two Faberge Style cards I made for the March Clarity TV shows to share.
They were both embossed using an antique gold powder and coloured using Pearl-Ex metallic colours from my watercolour palette.
I've had these iridescent paints for years and loved using them on black card when I first purchased them for a Christmas card technique I'd seen demonstrated.
It was nice to re-visit this and I enjoyed making these cards and keeping the designs clean and simple.
I've had some nice feedback for these cards saying how it reminded people about the exquisite and collectable Faberge Eggs and I enjoyed looking at the designs and styles while I designed these cards.
Stay safe and warm and I'll be back with the rest of the TV makes later xKx

Today's make and my samples from March 3rd Clarity TV shows

Lots to catch up on over the next week or so to show the samples I made for the March 3rd Clarity TV shows.
The first samples used the lovely Easter stamps, I don't usually do Easter cards but was inspired to experiment and try variations using these stunning stamps.
I will blog each card individually over the next week or so but, the photo's can be previewed all together in this post.
Also there will be the lovely lady and pattern sets to blog about, so lots going on!
I also want to mention my exciting news with the launch of my long awaited "Clock Shop" I have been asked for a long time about online purchasing for my clocks so now it's here!
In fact there are two links on my main Blog page, one to my shop on Etsy and one to my shop on Folksy.
I've started with a few designs and will be adding more in the near future.
They have proved consistently popular and I can hardly believe I am launching something I love into online selling.
I would like to thank you all for the continued support and lovely feedback I receive, I really appreciate it and it means so much!

Now for my most recent makes -
Today's make uses the Clarity Lilly of the valley stamp, mine was received as part of one of my previous design club editions and i also used the "Lovely thing" sentiment stamp.
I used pan pastels magenta and hansa yellow shade for the background on linen texture card.
After stamping the Lilly I defined the leaves with a pear green pro marker and added white to the flowers with a pergamano gel pen.
I didn't have ribbon in the colour I wanted so I coloured a piece of cream ribbon with the pro marker.
Finished by layering and adding gems.

Thanks for stopping by, have a good day :-) xKx

New Lesson Kit 15 Preview

I'll start this Sunday morning with a short introduction to this kit as there are so many goodies on show with Clarity Stamps on C&C today, it's hard to know where to begin!.
I knew when I saw this kit I wanted to decoupage the trees and use the "stitching" texture stamp and keep to pastel colours.
As you will see from Barbara's demonstrations these little textures can be utilised in so many ways.
Another must have!
I'm enjoying a relax this morning watching and recording the lady herself so I can dip in and out and now pop off to get some coffee while plodding along with my blogging!
Hope you enjoy your Sunday whatever you're doing, I have plenty to blog and show....
This is the card I made for this new lesson kit xKx

Clarity Blog Challenge is now live!

Woohoo the anticipation and wait is finally over and the Blog has now been launched.
I am so thrilled to be a part of this new challenge along with other lovely talented ladies.
We are all hoping you'll join in the fun over there with us.
claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk
The theme for this first challenge is "Anything Goes" and it will run until the end of the month with the lucky winner receiving a £50 Clarity gift voucher!
Inspiration for me for this theme came from the latest Clarity Design Club stamp, which was a Celtic square, and my Gelli Plate.
I thought I'd do a card suited to a male theme and chose a Greek mosaic style adding the urns.
The monthly Clarity Design Club newsletter comes with a new design stamp each month.
This was my first efforts using the Gelli Plate and I started off by mixing and brayering acrylic paints onto the plate and then using the stamp to make an impression onto the painted surface.
I did this several times varying the paint colour and once dry I chose the best results and cut the mosaic squares into sections to assemble onto my design.
I mounted the cut out painted paper images onto card to strengthen them.
The centre images were layered up to form the design.
Before gluing into place I took the Crackle stamp and used this over my background to which I'd already blended ink from the Old Paper distress ink pad to give a distressed look.
I then stamped the crackle in a darker colour over the background ink.
The urns were created from the Versatile Vase which I embossed with gold embossing powder.
The centre floral motive is part of the remaining tiles cut, decoupaged and layered with foam pads.
It's going to be a busy weekend with the new Clarity Stamp arrivals on C&C on Sunday and I need to blog all my DT makes to share.
I was very inspired by this months stamps and made a total of 9 samples for the TV shows this month.
Thanks so much for looking at my blog and I hope you feel inspired by the Clarity Designs
Lots more blog postings to follow.....xKx
