Class catch up

Good afternoon,
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I have a quick catch up from the previous couple of class classes to share with you and some samples I've prepared for next week's class.
We spend a couple of hours crafting away, chatting and enjoying refreshments and delicious cake, a really pleasurable time with lovely ladies.
Also trying to sneak in a couple of Christmas cards to avoid a last minute rush!
Stamps used nclude Cardio - penguins and deer, poppy - Hero Arts, Trees and Serengeti - Inkylicious.
The ladies always create such lovely work which makes me very happy.
I also purchased a jar of Krisha's homemade Kiwi and Lemon jam this week, yummy!

Stepping back in time

Morning crafters and a very warm welcome to my new followers, thank you for following my crafty journey.
Hope you had a good weekend, we had a lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating with my neighbours, their Diamond Wedding anniversary.
It was great to catch up with all the neighbours together and celebrate this wonderful occasion.
We sat in the garden drinking bubbles, a lovely relaxing time.
After such a busy week it was good to have a few hours chilling.
Today I am getting ready for tomorrow's crafty session and making some samples and writing a tutorial for a new item I have been sent out to work with.
The diary is getting even more full and the project list is getting longer with many different, exciting and varied projects to move on to...
Today I am sharing two little Ikea Tolsby frames that were just perfect for these great stamp sets from
Sarah Hurley  The stamp sets are interchangeable Doodle Dolls - Be Amazing and Dream a Little Dream.
As soon as I saw them I wanted to go back in time to the 60's I like the idea of dress up dolls, mixing and matching clothes and this style worked so well.
The plastic frames are so retro and matched the style, adding black and white with the stamping and some vibrant colours completed the look I wanted to achieve.
I just love these little dollies and frames.
Have a good day, crafty hugs xKx

A layered clock

Wishing you a happy Sunday morning,
It's been a super busy week and I'm only just getting chance to catch up on my blog.
I have a very exciting post to share with you today, a brand new kit from Pear Tree Crafts created by my lovely and clever friend Sam at Samantha K Gifts and inspired by my very self! How cool is that!
Now with my love of creating designing clocks Sam and I came up with the following layered kit to create a clock after we got chatting about all things craft.
I've now had a play with the kit, the clock is 18cm dia.

***Sam is offering a 5% discount on this kit if you use the following code ***

for the

The kit has four separate layers and I've used a clock mechanism with a long spindle as this was deep enough to take all four layers.
The four layers are 1 x 2mm MDF, 2 x 2mm acrylic and 1 x 3mm acrylic.
I know Sam is super excited to see how I created the clock as she has only seen the finished pictures so far and not my step by step tutorial.

Firstly I created a moon background on the MDF layer, masking the moon and sweeping acrylic paint, purple, pink and white, over the sky area with a sponge to give me my desired effect.
I then used the negative portion of the mask to add white to the moon and make it nice and bright. I wanted to keep a nice bright white moon so it shone through all the layers.
The next layer I used was the 2mm acrylic and I simply swept some more pink acrylic to this to layer the sky further and used a stencil with white acrylic to give an etching effect with the script.
The stencil I used is TCW - Art Is...

Next I used the 3mm acrylic layer and I swept across some orange and yellow acrylic and again used white through a stencils for the fairy, dandelion clock and stars. The fairy stencil is from imagination crafts as is the dandelion clock and the Stars are a Memory Box stencil.

The top layer is 2mm acrylic and I stamped dandelion clocks (Lavinia stamps) and a Woodware stamp (Going to Seed) on to this using a Stazon ink pad.
I knew I was going to reverse this layer so the stamping is not directly on the front of the acrylic, I flipped it over after I'd stamped as you will see in the pictures.
The numbers are peel offs.

The four layers are the perfect fit for a long spindle clock movement.
I always use the following site for my clock parts - Clock Parts and this clock uses 76mm hands,
You can always trim long hands down for smaller clocks if required.
I love the layered effect and the white stamping and was really pleased with the finished result.
The great thing about applying paint to acrylic is you can wash it off and start again if you need to!
Once I'd got my head around what I wanted on each layer it was so easy to create.
Of course you can mix and match the layers and use them as you wish, there are short and medium lengths available for clock movements so not all the layers need to be used at once.
The choice is yours...

Do check out Sam's site for the kit and more of her super creations!

I hope you have a great Sunday whatever you are doing, we are out to celebrate a special occasion with some neighbours of mine this afternoon.

Super Sunday Craft Class

Hello,
Hope you've had a good weekend and are enjoying a sunny Sunday.
What a lovely class we had today.
The project went down a storm and the ladies are now keen to continue creating at home with their newly learnt techniques.
We had a great time catching up on all the news of the summer, laughing about all sorts and enjoying Toby's yummy sticky toffee cake! He even added extra fudge for us!
We had time for a relax in the garden while the sun was shining and we were having our refreshment breaks.
I have to say the results today were stunning and everyone was so chuffed to bits with their creativity, I'm so proud of everyone's work and artistic talent.
There was time to have a leisurely shop and look at the samples for next month's class where we are exploring fabric projects, exciting stuff!
A big Thank You to Denyse and Bethany for bringing me a belated Birthday present, a gorgeous Orchid with a super gift tag Denyse had cut from her Cameo, so pretty.
I'm so lucky to share special times with this lovely group of ladies who are also friends and we just love crafting, can't ask for more...
Enjoy your evening, I have a bottle of Kir Royal fizz chilling nicely in the fridge...xKx

Diamonds are Forever

Hello all,
Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend.
I've just sat down with a Nespresso iced latte to catch up on my blog.
Today I've been finishing prep for Sunday's glass decoupage workshop, really looking forward to this and catching up with lovely friends and all things crafty.
I've also been making samples for the September workshop.

It's been a busy week and I found out at short notice it was my lovely neighbours Diamond wedding anniversary, 60 years what an achievement ❤️
I used the gorgeous 6 x 6 Papermania Wedding Ever After for a background, and Anita's silver Mirri board.
I was worried that with being so busy I might not be inspired with such little time but, turning to these Docrafts staples and items from my stash saved the day and I was pretty pleased with the results, phew!
You can check out my gallery and some of my upcoming Docrafts events here - Docrafts

Hope you enjoy your evening, Hugs xKx

Craft session catch up and homework...

Hello,
Here's mid week lunch time catch up from me,
Hope you are well and having a good week so far.
I had a wonderful birthday on Saturday, so nice when it falls on a weekend, and was thoroughly spoilt with lovely cards and fabulous treats.

It's a busy week and yesterday at craft class the ladies enjoyed using the Aspen Leaves set from Inkylicious.

We enjoy using Inkylicious, they are really versatile stamps, here's some more makes from previous classes

and lovely homework sent in from Maureen when we used the Altenew Painted Poppy stamp set last week

A bit of home tutoring went on recently also
when my daughter asked for ideas about decorating a ceramic Squirrel money box from Hobbycraft.
I got out the gorgeous black and white decoupage papers from the Creativ Company and she spent an afternoon decorating this little fellow.
I think for her first decoupage project she did an amazing job!
We love him.

I also caught up with the lovely Sam from Samantha K Gifts combining business and pleasure, we had such fun catching up, making plans and discussing ideas, exciting times!
Well that's me for now, next I'm off to get ready for this Sunday's class and get creative for a card and gift that I need to make for a special occasion.
