A day at the Zoo...

Morning everyone,

A quick blog post from me this morning.
Hope everyone is well and I wish you a lovely weekend.
I must thank everyone for all the Birthday wishes sent to my Daughter who was 28 yesterday.
It was so very kind of you all and truly appreciated.
We spent the day at London Zoo, it was fabulous, such an amazing place.
Then it was home for a nice meal, a bottle of vino and Birthday cake, perfect!
Although rain in the morning it turned out lovely and sunny in the afternoon so that was a bonus too.
I'll leave you with pictures from the day and one of her Birthday cards I made, I'll share the other soon.

The card uses Designs by Ryn, gorgeous Hibiscus stamps along with the stencil and Ginko leaves stencil, all with distress inks.
These new Designs from Ryn are beautiful and I'll be doing more with them soon...

Thanks for looking today...

More Sweet Poppy with Brusho's

Morning everyone,

Thank you for the lovely comments and feedback on Facebook about these cards yesterday.
Using all Sweet Poppy Stencils.
I did the Tiger first, an idea that I had to use Brusho's through the stencil trying to keep it like watercolour and fairly subtle.
It's achieved by sprinkling and very lightly spritzing, a lot of dabbing and blotting!
Repeating as necessary until the desired effect is achieved.
I've used this technique on two of the other cards below, including the Fairy Pods and Steampunk Butterfly.
The Leaf Flowers were done with distress inks, Cracked a Pistachio and Abandoned Coral.
I'll be using this technique soon at my Kent workshops.

Thanks so much for looking today,
Have a lovely day,

Stunning Sweet Poppy Stencils

Hello many thanks for reading today,

Hope you had a lovely weekend,
I had a great one and the weather yesterday was glorious in Kent.
The forecast is looking great for this week too!

Today I have two MDF plaques to share with you using the wonderful Sweet Poppy Stencils.

The stunning Tiger is stencilled with Gold paste on a black painted background, I've also used the Leaf Border and Freedom from the Angelic Words stencil.

The Tree of Nature is on a lilac and mint painted background with tissue and medium for very simple texture and interest and Dreams from the Birthday Words stencil.

I'm off to do some chores and crafting before I retreat to the garden...
Have a lovely day.

Stampendous Filly Sketch and Wander Lost stamps

Hello crafters,

Another post today from me with Stampendous stamps I've been wanting to use for a while now.
They are Filly Sketch and Wander Lost.
I was inspired by samples on the Stampendous blog to have a go at this technique.
Stamping the Filly in white paint and adding a wash and touches of blue and purple.
I'm not a painter so I took this steadily and hoped I be happy with the result and I am.
The key was knowing when to walk away from it.
I've also used Stampendous texture stamps with Archival inks and white paint.
The sentiment us stamped in white ink.
This has been made for my best friend's daughter in memory of her horse Lady who was put to sleep not long ago, she was a good age and I hope this will be a reminder of the life they shared and happy memories.

My homework and class projects from Lisa B Designs Workshop

Morning all,

As promised here's my round up of the cards and techniques from
Lisa B Designs workshop last Friday.
We used Lisa' s new stamp sets from the Floral Collage series and Imagination Crafts stencils and their Stencil paint which I've been itching to have a play with since their release.
I've also used a Crafters Workshop Fragments stencil, Burlap Bits, which is a dinky size of 4 x 4" I love it!

Other items used include VersaColor inkpads and WOW embossing powders.

The first card I started on Friday and once home I added more detail and embellishment.
I've used Imagination Crafts stencil paint in Mallow and Lime Green with the Honeycomb stencil and a touch of Diamond Sparkle. The floral stamps are from the Clematis Elements set.

I then used the Poppy Elements with Boysenberry and  Bamboo VersaColor, this was my take on samples Lisa and Kirsten showed us at the class.

Lastly inspired by the class a design I came up with at home using stamps from the Pimpernel Elements set, the Burlap Bits stencil and Lime and Rose stencil paints.

Back later,

On my desk today...

Happy Bank Holiday Monday to you all.
For the first time in weeks I've managed a reorganise and tidy up of my craft area.
I store a lot of things in labelled boxes.
There's a couple of smaller boxes in which I've gathered items for future projects, as I think of ideas I put things together ready for when I need them and so I don't forget!
There's boxes with all the "ingredients" for up coming workshops and demo's, these are either work in progress or ready to start on apart from items I've been sent to work with.
I've even got a lovely oval folding table to revamp which was kindly given to me by one of my workshop ladies and I really want to tackle this during the summer months.
My desk is by folding doors onto the garden with the sun streaming through and I can get the best of both worlds when I open the doors.
I've got my rocker armchair here too for my break times long with my Nespresso machine and TV, although I listen to music and the radio a lot while working.
Today's desk features some continued work from my time on Friday at my good friend Lisa at
Lisa B Designs workshop day and some lovely
Imagination Crafts goodies.
Fabulous!
So without further ado I'm going to enjoy the sun and crack on with my crafting.
Thanks so much for popping by today.
