Going Back to My Roots

A favourite song by Odyssey and many memories of their '70's Disco hits...
Going Back to My Roots was a later hit and that's just what I'm going to be doing next...
Taking my crafting back to its roots.
Don't know why I didn't think if it earlier! Lol

More will be revealed in Time...

Hope you're having a good Monday so far.

I'm still juggling things with an ongoing health issue but I'm not going to bore you with that, it's likely to need attention for a good while yet.
Many thanks for all your well wishes and messages, I'm so grateful for every one.

So in the meantime I'm going to be taking my mind of things with some Spring Crafting! Lol
(not Cleaning!!!)

A few changes I'm making, one of which is that my workshop updates and emails will be sent out via email newsletters to my ladies and anyone wanting further info.

craftyk@hotmail.co.uk

Or you can phone me for info on up and coming workshops and demo's.

I've also been Spring Cleaning my personal Facebook page, just a bit of a tidy up I do routinely, limiting old posts.
So if you can't see posts that's why, a few people thought I'd disappeared or changed my settings.
I won't be far away! Lol
My Craft Facebook Page here will have any up to date Crafty news.

I must crack on now, didn't sleep too well last night at all so might even grab a cat nap.

Enjoy the rest of your day and I'll leave you with some eye candy.
A make I recently did for my lovely friend  Lisa Baker over on her blog.
I've used a Woodware clear stamp "You Make me Happy" and water coloured with Spectrum Aqua pens.

Cheerio for now.

A polite note about my classes

Please be aware I am more than happy for anyone attending my classes to take the techniques and use them as much as they like for their own PRIVATE use and to SELL any items made.
However I MUST request that all my classes from now are not copied for teaching purposes for financial gain.
This is after all my livelihood and I have been very, very lenient with my techniques and sharing and still will be but NOT for my classes to be copied directly and taught.
You can adapt techniques and make them your own but please remember where your ideas originated and give credit to the artists who generated them.
Sorry I have to make this statement but I hope you respect and understand my reasons for doing so.
Thank you

A lovely day out...

Morning all,

Lovely to see the sun here this morning.
Washing is coming along nicely and lots to attend to this week.

I just had to share the results of a great workshop I attended yesterday with my super lovely friend Samantha Kingdon.
It was at The Craft Barn in Surrey and hosted by Kay Carley.
We met some lovely like minded crafters and had yummy cake and coffee during our break at the Priory Garden Center just opposite.

Anyhow when I purchase products I like to know I'm going to get lots of varied use from them and that's definitely the case for my Brusho's.
I really can't see the point of having lots of mediums that achieve the same results but that's just my personal view.
I've used them a lot in my own workshops with techniques I've come up with.
I haven't researched many of techniques out there so I'm not sure if mine are an adaptation of what's already been done.
I have been using them in quite an arty grungy way but the class yesterday focused on more controlled, delicate use of this medium.

I love watercolour images so this was right up my street and I will adapt and use my own twist on these techniques a lot.

A relaxing and inspiring day was had and I've yet to make my panels into cards but I'm thrilled with the results.

Have a good week, back soon.

Pond Frogs...

Hello all,
Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend.

I've been having a bit of me time, sorting some life things, health issues and some things involved with mum's care, she's 90 in April and we're planning a few family things to enjoy with her.

Sometimes we just need to step away and take stock which is exactly what I've been doing.

Tomorrow I'm off with a lovely friend to have a crafty day with Kay Carley, watercolour with Brusho's, some more cool technique to be learnt here I think...

Anyway I've done very little crafting during my break except for having a play with these Poppystamps dies "Pond Frogs".
They are new and when I spotted them I decided they'd be ideal to use along Designs by Ryn Water Droplets.

Colouring is all with Brusho's.

Hope these little chaps add a bit of a smile to your weekend, they certainly made me smile...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Workshop update and preview

Morning crafty peeps,
Some workshop news and updates...
I'm currently taking bookings for the Metamorphasis project, Candy Box Crafts Notelet Box, on the 19th April in Kent.
Then on May 17th we're going to be using Paper Clay for a Tag and some Greeting Cards, these cards are super quick, easy and fun to do and the class includes a pack of Paper Clay for you to take away.
I'm also currently looking at a return visit date to Pink Tulip in Warwickshire for the second round of the Metamorphosis class.
Further dates for Bristol for a mixed media clock canvas project and the Metamorphosis project, a whole weekend of crafting, Sat and Sun.
There are some new location dates in the diary for later in the year but theses are to follow once the arrangements are all confirmed.
So I'll leave you with some eye candy featuring a few Paper Clay project samples.
Enjoy your day.

Another Crafty Sunday

Morning all,
Just a quick catch up after yesterday's Kent workshop.
It was a super day, relaxing, chatting and crafting with friends...
We used Candy Box Crafts Triple Frame and everyone had different ideas about what they wanted to create.
Such a fab kit and makes a really lovely gift too.
So I must crack on, lots to do, I will leave you with a few sneaky peeks from the class...
Have a good day.

Pink Tulip and Candy Box

Morning all,
I'm scheduling this post as I'll be at my Kent workshop today, a week after an amazing two days in
Bristol and Warwickshire.
So following on from Brusho Boxes in Bristol I went to
Pink Tulip Creations in Warwickshire.
It was a full class, oversubscribed so I'm planning a return visit soon...
It's the most delightful location, super shop and wonderful people who always give me such a warm and friendly welcome.
I really set the ladies a crafty challenge out of their comfort zone with my Metamorphosis project using the Candy Box Crafts Notelet Box.
Sheila aka Mrs Pink Tulip is always so organised and ensures the smooth running of the day with forward planning for us all with a bit of shopping thrown in which we all love!
Roy aka Mr Candy Box is amazingly helpful and did us all very proud as tea boy for the day.
So I must say a massive thanks to all at Pink Tulip for such a superb day!
Now my students some old faces some new faces worked with focus and concentration on the techniques I showed them and I think I can safely say they all took away something new and different from the class.
I've received super feedback and thanks regarding the class and I'm just thrilled everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.
I really look forward to returning again very soon and can't thank you enough for all your support and following.
So I'll bid you a good day while I away to spend a craft day with my ladies in Kent and leave you with some pictures of a wonderful day and some peaks at the most gorgeous projects from very talented and skilful crafters.

Brusho Boxes at Bristol

Afternoon all,

Trying to catch up this week after a wonderful crafty weekend.
Saturday in Bristol was the Candy Box Crafts Brusho box project.
We used Brusho's to decorate and stamps including Designs by Ryn, Paperartsy, Stampendous and Bee Crafty Banksy designs.
I think I can happily say the ladies loved the class and I am as proud as punch with their fabulous results, they're all so talented and clever.
Some of them have even done a further box since arriving home.
I'm now prepping for this Sunday's workshop in Kent, it's all go!
So I'll leave you with a peek of the stunning array of Brusho Boxes
and the deep concentration creating!
Lots of fun, chat, tea breaks and yummy cakes,
particularly Jan's homemade cupcakes.
Thanks ever so for popping by my blog today, back soon with the Warwickshire Sunday class.
